Where are we now?

Greetings to all from Sharon Faulconer Dinsmore (Class of 73). I  have lived in Seattle, Washington for the last 11 years with my husband, David Dinsmore ( MSU and Lambda Chi Alum '72) .   Being a transplant to the Pacific Northwest has been quite a "cultural shock"  for this southerner who formerly lived in North Carolina.  I have two children:   a daughter, Jennifer, who has been married for four years and lives  in Binghamton, New York and a son, David Scott, who lives in Nashville, TN with his wife of three years.   Jen and her husband, Joe, are expecting our first grandchild at the end of January--can't wait!!  After teaching for 15 years, then substitute teaching and working as a receptionist , I am retired and enjoy being able to  travel with David in his work.   We have been blessed in our life together, and will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary on Dec. 1st.  We are fortunate to still be in good health and  are motorcycle and travel enthusiasts. ( Included picture is from our two day trip over the Cascade Mountains of western Washington.)

I really enjoyed catching up on everyone's latest info in the last newsletter.  I am a "scrapbooker"  and would love to have  photos from those years if anyone has any to share.

I was a band director for 14 years and then we started moving around the country for my husband's job in '86 so I was pretty much a stay-at-home mom except for a few teaching stints in Chicago and Dallas.  After my divorce in 1996, I became a substitue teacher and also worked as a recruiter for market research (focus groups).  Then, when building my home in Podunk, Texas (seriously, it is!), in 2005, I stumbled into my current position - sales assistant for the builder.   Actually, I'm only about 25 miles from Dallas, so it isn't all that bad.

Kiddos are 28, 26, and 19 - two girls and then the boy that daddy always wanted.  Rob is a freshman at Ohio University.  Lauren, the eldest, graduated from North Carolina State University and Lindsay, from University of Texas at Austin.

Jordan Newsome

Donna Tatman Reed Writes:

Not much to update here except that Jordan Newsome, Ray Newsome's son and my Amanda's brother, has finished his 17th of 20 radiation treatments that followed a full battery of chemotherapy treatments at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. When he finishes the daily radiation treatment, they will evaluate whether he needs another dose of chemotherapy to his spinal cord. Either way, he is close to being finished and, hopefully, in full remission from lymphona. His hair is growing back and he's staying positive as only a 20-year-old college student can. Thanks for all of the prayers offered for Jordan. I know Ray, his wife, JoBeth, and the entire Newsome family appreciate your prayers. Jordan is a terrific kid.
