When the last newsletter came out, I had one day to get unpacked and packed for our Hawaii trip, so my news was quick and not so detailed.  I’ve included a photo of Howard and me at the end of our trip.  We regularly visit the island of Kauai, and stay in Princeville at our timeshares there.

My school (Cuesta Community College) started classes on Aug. 18, so I’ve been busy teaching my 6 students there and my 9 other private students to sing in German in preparation for their upcoming Studio Recital on Sunday, October 19.  The theme is OKTOBER FEST, so the German songs and pretzels fit right in.

I take some time to go to the big city when I can, and just had a wonderful weekend in San Francisco, going to the opera (3 of them) and also viewing the Chihuly glass exhibit at the deJong Museum in Golden Gate Park.  What a wonderful way to spend the weekend.  My friend, Suzan, went with me and her daughter, a freshman at Berkeley, joined us.  I hope you all have a chance to come to CA sometime.  So many sights to see and things to do here.

Our travel plans coming up are:  Nebraska in Nov. to attend our niece’s wedding in Grand Island (Nov. 22) and then a trip to France next summer.  My International Voice Convention is in Paris in July, so we’ll build our trip around it.  Then to Montana in August for a theatre reunion of my husbands.  One of our other favorite places to visit (Big Fork, on Flathead Lake).  So if any of you are out and about, maybe we can meet up and have some fun!!

That’s about it for out here on the left coast.

ITB,
Mary Sue (Webb) Gee

Jan Anderson Hankins
Since graduating in the spring of 1970 I have been involved with DG in one form or another, as the Delta Gamma Director of Award, Regional Director, and Xi Chapter University of Michigan ATC, as well as many other positions.

I lived in Chicago for 8 years after graduation and have lived in Michigan for the past 30 years. I have been married for 35 years to Mark and have two sons ages 30 and 27. The older son, Matt, is a Theta Chi and the younger, Scott, a Sig Ep. My older son got married a year ago. I adore my daughter-in -law. They live in Chicago and my younger son moved back to Michigan from Orlando to join his dad at Merrill Lynch.

My favorite thing do to is play tennis. I’m currently volunteering at the Children’s Low Vision Center that DG’s in SE Michigan helped start about 10 years ago.
