Delta Gamma: The Golden Years

The Golden Girls Page 4

Linda Racke Heil reports that all is well with her family.  We are trying to schedule a dinner in the Lexington area for those close enough to attend sometime in December or January.  Linda is pictured below with her lovely daughter, Molly.

Hi sisters! Sorry that I've not been very good minding Gail. You know, she is my big sis and I've been getting yelled at for not doing what I was told, ha.  I wanted to send some pictures of my family and let you know whats been going on in my life. My oldest son, Adam, just turned 30 in August. He is single, living in Cincinnati and just opened an insurance agency with American Family Insurance. Aaron, my youngest, turned 28 in October. He currently lives in Gainesville, Florida attending the University of Florida. He will graduate in May with a Masters in Graphic Design. While attending UF he found himself a southern belle named Danielle who is the cute brunette found in my pictures.
My husband, Tom, is going on 30 years with Nationwide Insurance. When not in the office he enjoys spending time on the family farm and playing basketball on Sundays.  I've been retired for three years from teaching. I'm currently working part time with a grant funded program called Help Me Grow. I visit new mothers and babies ages newborn to 3 years old. I do parenting activities and assessments on the babies. I'm still waiting on daughters-in-law and grandchildren. I love all my sisters and I think about you often.
In the bonds,
Janie Richmond Kirker

I have been an English teacher for 32 years now.  Currently I teach all seniors, which is about to kill me due to paper grading.  I am contemplating retiring in the spring.  I still love it, but I am not happy with all the testing mandates or extra time we put in daily.

Al Wolf and I divorced in 1989 and I married Ken Brinkman in 1990.  We each have three sons, but his are a lot older than mine. Barry and Dave are pipe fitters like Ken, and Andy is an ear,  nose, and throat doctor in Ashland. My oldest son Aaron works in a factory and has a six year old daughter named Morgan Colleen .  My middle son Cameron lives in Clearwater, Florida, and does maintenance for rental properties.  My youngest son Cody is a senior at Morehead and will graduate in the spring with a health and PE education degree. He has taken the exam for the Boone County sheriff's department and will start there when he graduates.  Ken and I have ten grandchildren combined, so we are pretty busy.  I sing in our church choir, on praise team and play hand bells.  Ken is retired now, but he stays busy renovating houses and working on ours.

Both of my parents are living and still able to get out.  My father retired from Delta, and just this past weekend, my sister, brother, and I flew down to Florida to see Cameron.  We were off school on Friday and Monday, so we took advantage of the long weekend.

I have counseled several young ladies who have attended MSU and NKU to pledge Delta Gamma and to my delight, they did.
